Terms of service
Last updated 2026-04-21. These terms apply to all users of SkillBricks.
1. Who these terms are with
SkillBricks is a product operated by Mockif LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “Mockif”). By using SkillBricks you agree to these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Who can use SkillBricks
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Candidates verify an email address and a non-VoIP phone number. Recruiters apply with a work email and a company LinkedIn URL and are reviewed manually during private beta.
Only one active account per verified phone number. You must keep your login credentials secure and must not share them with anyone else.
3. Your account and content
You own the content you submit - scenario answers, commands typed into live tasks, dialogue with the AI examiner - and you grant us the licence we need to host, score, display on your wall, and surface it to recruiters per these terms. Unlocking your identity to a recruiter is always gated by the credit spend described on the pricing page.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit. We do not require you to disclose proprietary information from a current or former employer during assessments; do not paste confidential material or production secrets into SkillBricks.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate another person or create an account on behalf of a person who has not consented.
- Attempt to bypass, manipulate, or reverse-engineer the assessment, scoring, or agent systems. Using an automated stand-in, piping LLM output into the terminal, or collaborating with a third party during a session is a material breach.
- Scrape walls, search results, or candidate profiles. Public walls are provided for individual recruiter evaluation, not bulk extraction.
- Use SkillBricks to send spam, harassment, discriminatory messages, or unsolicited bulk outreach. In-platform messaging is moderated.
- Interfere with the service - denial of service, intrusion, unauthorised access to other users' accounts, or bypassing rate limits.
- Use SkillBricks to train a competing verified-skills model on candidate data.
Security researchers acting under our responsible disclosure policy are not in breach of this section.
5. Candidates: free forever
Candidate accounts are free. You do not pay to sign up, to take assessments, to appear on a wall, or to be contacted by a recruiter. We will not introduce paywalls on candidate features retroactively. If we launch new optional candidate services they will be clearly labelled as such.
6. Recruiters: payments and credits
Recruiter accounts pay for credits and subscriptions via Stripe Checkout. Current pricing lives on the pricing page; material price changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle and are notified at least 30 days in advance.
- One credit unlocks one candidate permanently. Unlocks do not lapse when a subscription ends.
- Credit expiry. Credits are valid for 12 months from the date they are issued to your account. Expired credits are not refundable but you do not pay again to access candidates already unlocked.
- Ghost-refund. If a candidate does not respond within 14 days of your first in-platform message, 100% of the credit is returned to your balance automatically. This is a commercial goodwill mechanism, not a right of withdrawal.
- Cancellation. Subscriptions bill monthly with no minimum term. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, which remains payable. Credits already issued remain valid until their expiry date; we do not claw back earned credits.
- Taxes. Prices are shown pre-VAT. Applicable UK VAT is added at checkout via Stripe Tax; a compliant invoice is emailed immediately.
Business customers and enterprise contracts: you acknowledge this is a business service and waive the 14-day consumer right of withdrawal for digital services once credits are issued.
7. Anonymity and unlocks
Candidate walls are anonymous to recruiters by default. A recruiter who spends a credit to unlock a candidate receives the candidate's full name and in-platform messaging access, nothing more. Recruiters must keep contact in-platform until the candidate chooses to share further details.
Using unlock data to contact candidates outside SkillBricks before the candidate has consented, to build a sourcing database, or to share with third parties is a breach of these terms and may result in account suspension without refund.
8. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. Candidates can do so from /settings/data; recruiters can cancel subscriptions and close the account from account settings. Closure triggers the erasure process described in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe your use creates a safety or security risk to other users. For material breaches by a paying recruiter we may retain credits without refund. We will tell you the reason unless doing so would prejudice an investigation.
9. Service availability
We aim for high availability and publish incident reports on status.skillbricks.ai. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Scheduled maintenance is announced where reasonably possible.
10. Warranty and liability
SkillBricks provides skill verification. We do not guarantee any hiring outcome, candidate response, recruiter engagement, or employment result. Recruiters bear sole responsibility for their hiring decisions; candidates bear sole responsibility for the content they submit.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Mockif LTD in that period, or (b) GBP 100. We exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data beyond backup recovery, and loss of goodwill.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Mockif LTD against third-party claims arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or content you submit that infringes another person's rights.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced at least 30 days in advance by email to account holders and by banner on the site. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, save that consumers retain any rights they have to bring proceedings in their country of habitual residence under applicable mandatory law.
